Dear Sir,
As soon as i tried to add a msn buddy i got this message,
"connection error from notification server - reading error"
I can now no longer use pidgin to use this msn account. I have another msn
messenger address and this can be used with pidgin on the same computer. I can
use both msn addresses using msn messenger.
The pidgin program came with my laptop and is part of the HP quickweb operating
system, so i am not using any microsoft opeerating system. I prefer to use the
quickweb as it is more secure.
I have deleted the buddy that i tried to add by using my msn account to delete
it. I have also used the quickweb restore function to put quickweb back to its
factory settings.
when i log on to pidgin i get the message as above, but although i can not use
or see any of my buddys, if i go into "view user log" i can find them. Using
the quickweb restore function deletes the buddies on my laptop ( ie the "view
user log) but i can get them back as soon as i try to log on to pidgin.
It is almost as if pidgin is blocking this account as my other msn account
works fine. May be you could explain this please.
The msn name that is not working is the email address i have used to send you
this message.
The version of pidgin being used is 2.5.2
