AFAIK, there are 3 different ways to quit Pidgin: a) Go to the buddy list, and click “quit” in the buddies menu. b) Right-click on the systray icon and click “quit”. c) If you have disabled the tray icon in the preferences dialog, you can no longer minimize Pidgin to tray; Instead, closing the buddy list will now close Pidgin directly.

My questions are then: 1) is there a built-in way to quit Pidgin that I have missed? 2) is there any plugin/gnome-shell extension that can provide a "quit" button as a temporary fix? 3) would it be possible to have a quit icon/menu entry that really closes Pidgin?
