Hi Eion, thanks for the reply. The Buddies in the contact list are displayed correctly. I see the correct informtion from the LDAP.
The only "problem" ist he sender. The sender is displayed with username@domain/<resourceID> If i set the nickname manaully it is displayed correctly but i want to set the senders nickname automatically with the information from the LDAP or that the "@domain/<resourceID> is removed. That would be great :) Greeting Steffen Von: Eion Robb <[email protected]> Gesendet: Dienstag, 28. In the XMPP server, is the nickname of the ldap user set to update the alias in the xmpp roster? The sender is configured in the client through the 'Local Alias' setting in Pidgin, through Tools->Accounts->Manage Accounts->{The XMPP Account}->Modify->Local alias Cheers, Eion On Mon, 27 May 2019 at 23:36, Much, Steffen <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: Hello, we are using pidgin together with openfire. The authentication runs with LDAP and we have configured openfire that the nickname is filled with the LDAP information "displayname". The login with pidgin works fine but the nickname is not automatically filled with the LDAP information. The Nickname is empty and in conversations i see for the sender the username@xmpp-domain/<resourceID> info. How can i achieve, that the nickname is automatically filled with the LDAP information ?
