Hopes that the Globe would offer expats a balanced diet of opinion shrank on reading your double helping of climate panic last weekend. Desi Anwar should be better informed than to regurgitate Gore’s nonsense about "drowning polar bears." His notorious agitprop "documentary" provoked successful court action in the UK to stop it being presented as factual. But Jennifer Blake’s tirade really took the biscuit. There may be valid arguments in support of her “man-made climate change” hysteria, but it is distasteful that she should ride into battle on the backs of the charred corpses of Aussies who died in the bushfires. Blame the evil arsonists, not the ozone layer! Her political bias was defined by her ludicrous assertion that Miranda Devine is a lady whom "Australians love to hate." Not true. I’m not Australian, but go there often, and have to say that the man on the street and his wife certainly don’t dislike Devine, although pinko "intellectuals" do. However, Blake did readers here a signal service by pointing out that a major Sydney newspaper gave equal space to both sides of the debate. Pity the Jakarta Globe didn’t!
