Great!

But there's no free (as in speech) encoder for DTS. I'm sure this is not
a new debate, but I don't consider using a proprietary format as an
advantage. The ambisonics patents are expired, so why use a closed
format to distribute degraded versions of the original files? People
interested by ambisonics today can just computers instead of home
cinema decoders; most recent desktop PCs are equipped with
multi-channels audio interfaces. Ambisonia is a resource that would be
easier to use today, even without DTS. It should actively promote open
formats, not de-facto standards. If formats for common domestic players
are really required, why not distribute an AC3 version and a stereo
version as well?

Everybody I know who used it feels the same now, even the author of "The
Definitive Guide to Plone"... But it was a good choice back then, and
it can still do a good job for Ambisonia, even without an upgrade. The
most important thing would be to put it back online, unless there's a
will to build something new before.
