and those that have heard it have been amazed how good decoded UHJ can be,.

Before Peter Carbines started going through his UHJ materials and producing pre-decoded versions in DTS CD format, I was sceptical of how much value there was in the experiment. But on the contrary, the fact is that with the software decoders around now we can probably hear them better than anyone could at the time - it's WELL worth doing and the results can be stunning - Stereotomy is an excellent example.

There is also a bunch of undocumented UHJ recordings by John Timperley done from around the early 1990s that someone needs to go through at some point. He had my Ambisonic system throughout the time I was living in the US, and for a few years before, and later told me that "he did everything with it", which in his case was mainly using the Transcoder, generally with reverb at the rear and the mix across a respectable stage width at the front.

McCartney's "Liverpool Oratorio" is done like that for example, and it would be worth someone going through the Collins Classics list, finding which were mixed by John, and see if they decode.

The latter are available here:http://www.classicsonline.com/Collin_Classics/ <http://www.classicsonline.com/Collin_Classics/> (though it doesn't seem to list the London Symphony Brass CD 12882, which is definitely UHJ).
