Strange, I have a 486 inside a XT case, but you mean the other way around,
right?
Hmm, don't see any reason why they shouldn't fit, but since I've never
tried I shouldn't know.
Well, if you have a XT case (that your current MB fits into) you could move
it over. Everyone will be impressed by the speed of the old PC. And no
thief would ever steal it ;)

Yes, but they are using ATX MB (the only actuall diffrence is that there
doesn't seem to be "normal" mouse/keyboard ports. Instead it's the
IBM/Compaq thing. (two exactl the same small round holes.)
P2 is a PPro MMX with more cache if I remember correctly. (all MMX versions
have more cache)
Funny thing with the P2 MMX computers I hear so much about, I just wonder
what they are? ;)
Well, the P3 will not be in my house until summer when it has gone down
some, around 1250 $ is to much for me right now for a P3 500 MHz, hopefully
it will go down in price. (only lacks a monitor, but I got one left over
from a 386 that I don't need/use :)
Besides my Pentium 166MMX will be a Linux server then, does anyone have any
idea how much RAM ther should be for it?
www/proxy/mail/ftp/telnet is the things I'm going to use on it (mail and
proxy beeing number 1 on the list)

*Bought* a XT? I still can't understand how people could demand money for
them. I have been getting offers all the time to take peoples XTs, I just
hope a friend is willing to give me his 386 soon. (actually the monitor was
mine for a week, then I sold it back to his father since the 386 was rather
useless without it ;)

Didn't the XT also have a HD as standard?
Please remember that I got into the PC buisness when AT was brand new, so I
have (almost) never actually used a XT, did pick four of them apart for
spare parts (screws, jumpers, I/O cables, floppies (it is cool to have a
5.25" drive in a brand new PC) etc.)
