IIRC you boot with the normal kernel boot disk (Slackware ships with a
collection) then use the UMSDOS root disk (if you don't have one I've got the
image on this CD) when it prompts you for it.  then just specify a
DOS-formatted partition as TARGET in setup and you're away.

(At least, that's how it worked with the first Slackware I installed - kernel
1.0.21 if that gives you any idea of age :) )
