Helo Bob,
I have an instalation disk that uses the, or it installs the sbide.sys
driver, I can send it to you if you like. I am using a different sb driver
cause the cdrom is attached to my sound blaster. You could take a look at
what I have and how it is loading and maybe you could try some switches.
config.sys
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
FILES=50
BUFFERS=25
LASTDRIVE=H
DEVICE=C:\DRV\SPKACNT.DVC
device=c:\PV\provox.exe
DEVICE=C:\DRV\PLUSDRV.SYS
DEVICE=C:\DRV\SBCD.SYS /D:MSCD001 /P:220 /I:11 /T:1 /A:0 /M:20
INSTALL=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD001 /L:H /M:15
Try this:
device=sbide.sys /d:mscd001 /v
install=mscdex.exe /d:mscd001 /l:"what ever drive letter you want cdrom to
be" /m:15 or try /m:20
I can't remember it exactly, but I am prety sure that's how it was written
for the ide cdrom /m:15 I think is the buffers, I don't know what /v was
for.
Pete
