Hi Paul,
You've got several great alternatives. I finally settled on Pegasus for
my email client, it's just too good to pass up!
Just about any modem will do a good job, I'm using a giveaway Zoom 14.4,
works great!
You could also try NetTamer, but depending on your ISP, it may or may
not work right. There's a bug in it (apparently being worked on,
finally!), that had the nasty habit of disconnecting before it retrieved
all of your mail. From the NetTamer mailing list, I gather this has been a
problem on everything from an 8088 to some Pentiums.
