I access the AZTEC system thru a modem connection. Aztec is the
university of arizonas freenet. It is tru that lynx does allow
downloads, but Aztec blocks it. Maybe because it is a freenet.
There are many restrictions on the system. Maybe they are trying
to maximize access but not capabilities.
ORION, the Springfield, Missouri freenet has even turned off their
modems and only allow access thru the web or telnet. Which of course
means that you must have a commercial ISP to access their system at
all. Seems contrary to the FREEnet concept of public access.
Anyway thanx for all the help and advice on getting my Legacy
equipment onto the web. I'm going to see if Aztec will allow
the large e-mail uuencoded download. If no I'll continue searching
the BBS world to see who might have Arachne.
