Since when does PINE use HTML mail?

Don't you need IE4/W98 to do this? Yet another example of people
thinking that everyone has the latest machine/software available.

So it was M$ reponsible for this mess....
At least O4 isn't as bad as OE9, which includes a full style-sheet of
about 100 lines in the html section. couldn't you just rip someone's
head off? Email me privately and I'll send you an empty email someone
sent me from this schmozzle (minus the attachment of course).
Next they'll send everything in unicode, making it twice as big again!
