Hi Howard E., About "16-Bit OS, GIFs, eList" of February 10:
HE> I finally settled on uka_ppp or Yan (KA9Q) for smtp, pop, and nntp HE> and Yarn or ReadMail (version 4.1) for offline reading. I'm begining to have results with `ReadMail' but that's far from my goal which was to keep using the `Multi-Mail' ~OLMR~ if at all possible. HE> ...ld.exe and nm2mail.exe that are used to convert the individual HE> .txt/.wrk files to a single unix mailbox. MS> I did try to play with `LilDir v1' & `NetMail to Mail'... ...it MS> creates `GetMail.LST' but then something else would be required... HE> I'm not sure what you did... ...I ran "nm2mail mbox.txt" in the HE> \mail directory, which converted the .txt/.wrk files... That's what i wasn't doing, as foolish as it may seem once you know the trick: it works much better with an argument and i was able to make a huge MailBox file the last time i tried. The problem is `ReadMail' is able to read that file but there are messages which didn't appear in the headers list; they're appened to a preceeding file... Well, at least i now have coloured zones when i want to read single .TXT/.WRK messages... 8-) That's a set of tools i didn't have before, many thanks for that!!! HE> OLIM is a KA9Q mailreader. It reads unix mailboxes and creates HE> replies in .txt/.wrk format. I have found that `ReadMail v5.0' will create .TXT replies (but no .WRK twin file yet), it refers to it as "RFC 1153" if i recall right... HE> I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree... I feel comfortable with this attitude. Quite often, that's the one and only constructive option in many cases, suits me well at the moment. ;-) MS> Oh, and, euh... Don't let the Linux people think it can't be done! HE> I'm not in any rush to start telling developers what projects they HE> should be working on. I once had ideas for the authors of `Basic Linux' and `LSPPP' but i must recognize that the insight of a user isn't that needed. After all, you recall how it turned out for `IVT': this can drain a lot of energy! Salutations, :) Michel Samson www3.sympatico.ca/bicephale a/s Bicephale ... What? A DOS .QWK over ~TelNet~ BBS door and no client to match?!... To unsubscribe from SURVPC send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe SURVPC in the body of the message.
