In the FIDO TECH echo there have been long discussions about Ni-Cad and how to save them from the dumpster. Seems there is a ritual involved but I don't use NiCad and didn't bother to try to memorize it. I do recall that you drain them to a certain minimum voltage then charge them back up to their max (1.2 volts per cell?). There is also a last ditch "shock" treatment but it can cause them to explode so I won't go into that here. :-) NiCad can be over-charged and damaged in that way too. Leaving them in a charger that will not automatically shut off at full charge will kill them dead. :-\ Charles Angelich The Ghost in the Machine!
