Rite now, I'm running Xandros, with a 500 mhz celeron, 128m DDR dram, 4 gig IDE, and an HSF *winmodem*. Performance is as good, or better, than Redhat on the same hardware. This aint exactly SURVPC, but- it is about as cheap as it gets if you go online buying parts to work with whatever else you have on hand. I bought the Soyo mthbds for 20$ ea. The Mozilla takes a few minutes to load on this hardware, but then it offers pop-up *free* browsing.
