  I use 4.5 explicitly and have had no stability problems at all,
occasionally though I have found that if you hit a webpage that causes
one of those little popup netscape windows with additional hyperlinks to
appear, if I would close it before it was completely loaded, sometimes
it crashes out netscape. But that has happened only a few times.
