Hallo,

as a new user I have a large number of problems. At the moment these are the
most frustrating. Can anyone please help?

My problems:

1. whenever I start KDE (from a prompt with startx) I get two CD players
appearing on my screen. Where are these started up and how can I switch them
off?

2.more seriously. Once in KDE and working I get the following effect. If I
open the file manager (from the menu, I think it's Utilities file manger
super user mode) and when I'm done close it again all my links are dead - I
can't start any other program including the file manager if I decide I want
touse it again. Up to now I've restarted KDE again but there must be a nmore
gentile way of doing things. Is this a bug or a feature?
3 and last problem. Impressed with my progress with KDE I rashly decided to
use the graphical login. Did this using YAST. Now I'Ve decided I don't like
the graphical login and heve to tried to get back to the previous state by
calling YAST from inside KDE and resetting the ASCII option. Result: after
hitting beenden it restarts in graphical mode again. It looks as if I'll
need to tweak some files by hand. But which ones?

I'm using SuSE 6.0 in the German language form.
