I'll tell you what I found about Redhat 5.2.
In it's favor, it has the glibc thing down pat.
It compiles nicely.
What I didn't like:
1. When you try to build a kernel, you get forced into
selecting OSSFREE.
2. If you try to take the standard linux kernel tarball,
which is distributed, Redhat's configuration scripts
report alot of errors about "unresolved module dependencies".
3. It isn't as configurable as Suse, as far as package
installation goes. For instance, most things work if you
select "install everything". But if you try to make a
chopped down install, you don't get the ppp module properly
installed unless you choose "install as dialout workstation".
But there is no way to know that except thru trial and error.
4. If I want to avoid their modular ppp, and build ppp into the
kernel, I run into roadblocks with my sound card being forced to use
OSSFREE.
