Okay, how about a little more info??  Do you have linux installed already??
Is it SuSE linux??

to see if sendmail is running, try these as root:

ps fax | grep sendmail
--this checks the process list for any programs with 'sendmail' in their name

and:

sendmail -bv root@localhost
--this tells you where an email to 'root@localhost' will be delivered

if these commands work, then you are 90% of the way there  :-)

mail the list with these results and let me know if I am on the right track
for you.
