hey , (dats how we say hi down here) got a dos program that finds my modem, takes it off hook and goes into limbo, after a while the program times out with a error. so itried another dos comm program it won't let me select com2 saying it doesn't exist....from dosemu.conf: "serial { com 2 device /dev/modem }" should work, must work 'cause it takes modem off hook... modem is a boca 33.6 on /dev/modem under SuSE 5.3 also having trouble with hylafax receiving data calls - just won't do it i did RTFM.....and set the gettyargs and mgetty.config accordingly....it receives faxes okay and dials out on ppp okay , sends faxes and alpha pages okay...... are the two problems related? how would i set up remote login via the modem? i would like to call my linux box (at home)from work. tia, don
