As best I know, it's an otherwise undocumented quirk. Tex Collins of the
Austin Linux Group (www.austinlug.org) told me about it.
My next hurdle was to recover rvplayer5.0 after putting the computer onto a
masqueraded network. Had to add an entry to the masquerade modules to allow
rvplayer files to pass. Then all was ok again.
