I got my new SuSE 6 yesterday ....
last night/ this morning I had this problem a lot. After testing the
compiler it seemed to work I put it down to default settings in the SuSE
Kernel conf file ( er what's it called !!) anyway there is a lot of
default entries in menuconfig which aren't needed, But setup I suppose
to cater for all!...
remove the entries which don't apply to your machine...
Also Ensure the SB IRQ is correct in menuconfig...

Good to be back folks,
I am having trouble compiling my new kernel from 6.0. I believe there
is a file I need to delete to make this go away. It happens with make
zImage. Any suggestions?
TIA,
Steve
