I'll bet it's another config setting someplace. I'm going to start
looking for it.
The event sound on my KDE did not work after the upgrade. I found an rc
file that had the sound drivers turned off because, it claimed, some
machine hang on exit from KDE if the sound is active.
Mine doesn't, so I turned the sound on. Maybe the same thing will hold
true for fonts.
