Sorry man.......You won't be able to get the SB Live! working in linux.
Creative hasn't released the proper info for developers to write an
opensource driver for it.  I'm sorta in the same boat....I bought one for
my doze box, but when I converted it to linux I had to use my old AWE64
and put my Live away. Bummer.
