Thanks Lenz for your help

I am describing what I did because I did not succeded with this new
aic7xxx
update !

I was able to copy the aic7xxx to the floppy. I have also boted the
system

with this new floppy
and when prompted I choosed install and then boot on my root partition
which is /dev/sda8
every thing went well untill the time to start the xserver. This keep
looping I gess without
giving me the kde display I asked for.

So the problem if I am not missing some thing on how to install the new
aic7xxx
is with the xserver and may other thing related to maybe related to I
have

no knolwedge at all
on X mecanics (xserver, xterm, consols,....ncurses files)

Note : that I noticed that I have problems in configuring the Kernel
using

Menuconfig or Xconfig
           but this is another problem

Could some one help me just understand some thing in this problems ?
