Some email between another list member and myself prompts me to ask
these questions...

What will happen with gnome 1.00 rpms are released IF we have compiled
gtk, glib, etc through sources and not rpms. ImO, the current state of
gtk releases in rpm format is mired in unresolved dependencies,
different revision levels for different things, etc.

I want to upgrade to gnome 1.00 as soon as suse builds the rpms. Can
someone speculate on how to handle these rpm's when I have already
compiled gtk, glib 1.20? These are not in the rpm database whatsoever.
What will happen when rpms start looking at dependency issues?

I am more than a little concerned because I have spent a deal of time
getting two systems to be more or less gnome aware using both rpms and
sources.

I eagerly await any information from suse regarding the current
planning with gnome 1.00 and how I can keep my current gtk, glib, etc
without getting trapped in the spiralling lib nightmare.

Thanks
