Well,
The best means for the moment is to do it manually, though it is not as
easy to do it, I suppose, for voluminous libraries as gtk/glib.
Once compiled with *make*, the libraries are to be installed with *make
install*. While the latter is running you see all the procedures on your
screen. You can undo them manually, unless there is a *make uninstall*
possibility (which exists for some packages (Once, the lib compiled, try
to do it before *make install*)
To avoid to reinstall the recompiled lib, there should be an install
script, unless I'm wrong. I never had to uninstall my gtk/glib for the
moment. Moreover, my experience with Linux is too limited to give you
more precise information.
So, consider it as a possibility, and perhaps someone else will add
something to the thread in this direction :)
Martin from Geneva.
P.S. By the way, You could just install your *.rpm(s) over your self
compiled libs, don't you?!
