I am now more confused than I ever have been about all this libc stuff! At some point in my constant tinkering with SuSE6.0 I reinstalled Navigator 4.5 from the download off Netscape's site. When starting it resulted in a bus error and would not start. I deleted the whole installation and reinstalled. It then ran. I just now upgraded to Navigator 4.51 and realized that Midi wasn't working. I downloaded the ump for libc6 and copied the ump.so to /opt/netscape/plugins. Netscape would not start, and caused a bus error. I then downloaded and installed ump for libc5. Netscape starts, and it plays MIDI files. I get an error, however. It says "sh: error in loading shared libraries libc.so.5 cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory." This is displayed in a netscape window "subprocess diagnostics (stdout/stderr)" Q 1) How can this play music if it can't find the libc5 files? Q 2) I thought libc5 application would run on SuSE6.0. Why do I get this error?
