Mine works in 2.2.3.  Did you have it working with 2.2.2 or 2.2.1?  The
strange thing is that when *I'm* booting I get a message repeated about
twenty times 'modprobe can't locate module char-major-4' or words close to
these.  I have no idea why I get this.  I've gone through the
configuration several times and don't see anything obvious that I might be
missing.  I also have a problem with my kscd interacting with the CD-ROM
drive.

It looks like you are aware of the change in lp0 <-> lp1 and have already
taken the corrective action in your CMOS settings.  I wish I could help.
All I can do is quote that fine gentleman in our White House: "I feel yur
pain." :-/
