Do you have any good answers to the following questions:
1. How can I use RPM on a distributed network? I need to install
software in parallel on a heterogenous network of more than a hundred
Linux and SunOS hosts with a mix of local and NFS-mounted filesystems.
rpm -i xyz.rpm works like a charme - but for one single host only.
Any ideas, solutions, experiences?
2. How can I use RPM as a non-superuser? I prefer to use my personal
account "czyborra" as a member of the admin group instead of working
anonymously as "root" leaving anonymous traces. RPM often gives me
permission errors. I cannot even read the database of installed
packages when I start xrpm: failed to open //var/lib/rpm/packages.rpm.
Do I just need to get my permissions straight or is RPM designed to
run for root only?
3. Why does http://www.rpm.org/ still point to
http://www.redhat.com/support/mailing-lists/archives/rpm-list/ instead
of http://archive.redhat.com/rpm-list/ and why doesn't it inform me
about http://www.gmsys.com/xrpm.html and
http://www.daa.com.au/~james/gnome/#GnoRPM?
