I believe what you want is your MS icon so you don't have to boot into DOS (yes 95/98 
is still DOS!) I don't believe there is an emulation that will quite get you there in 
Linux.  I
doubt there ever will be.  Sun does have such a thing for Solaris, but I have never 
heard a good word said about it.  What you are really looking for is wine:  
http://www.winehq.com/ .
It's still in alpha so far as I know.    I haven't tried to use it lately, but I have 
run some simple wintel apps with it a while ago.

If you are serious about having a linux icon, I suggest you find a good book on 
computers such as "How Computers Work"  I have a degree in computer science and 
learned a lot from that
book.  You don't  need to degree to read it.
