I'll do that on the working setup I have. I'll see what happens on the
nonworking setup, but read below for more info about that. (I'm very

That's not easy to do because I still don't know how to navigate in X
(or KDE) without a mouse, so it is useless to do anything inside the
windowing environment when the mouse isn't working.
And if the windowing environment isn't up, I don't use mouse support,
which then won't let me use the commands you describe.
A catch 22.
