You have to compile SCSI support (either into the kernel or as a module) to
enable your ZIP drive. I am sure this has been explained in this list earlier
and better), so you may want to check the list archive.
You will have to compile something like SCSI support _and_ SCSI driver support
_and_ support for parallel ZIP drive (there were three things, forgive me if I
do not have the names exactly right, it's been a while since I compiled for
my ZIP drive). Your ZIP drive can then be mounted on /dev/sda4 (or sdb or
whatever).
In older kernels (2.0.nn) you cannot have both a parallel printer and a ZIP
drive compiled into the kernel at the same time. You must use modules in that
case: load either the printer module or the ZIP/SCSI modules. Don't know how
this is in 2.2 kernels.
