When I did my upgrade I did pretty much the same thing to the options
file...but for me it was basically to replicate my "old-style" dial-up script
as well as make KPPP functional based on what I knew from previous experiences
with 5.3 and before.

However, what is the purpose of this "bloated" options file, if it effectively
has to be "blanked"?

Also, does it happen to get used as a "generic" options script when setting up
suseppp? (That's something I have yet to experiment yet. While I have my
setup working fine, I am recommending Linux to more and more of my friends who
may need a little bit of support in these "easier" ways of doing an Internet
connection.)
