I would highly reccomend looking at AnandTech's review (not the
orgasmic *pre*view ;)) of the K6-III, which can be found here:

In it he explains the significance of the K6-III's cache dance and gives a
few pages of comparative benchmarks. The same site will give you a good
starting place for comparison shopping for a new mobo.
Tom's Hardware also has a review (of sorts) of the processor, but
I often find myself questioning Tom's intelligence and understanding of
computer hardware, so I don't reccomend it (although he didn't do a bad
job with the article I'm referring to). Besides, Tom's writing style
is seriously irritating. >:)
