Just a small nit regarding the differences with the taskbar and panel
between KDE 1.0 and 1.1. In 1.0 it was possible to stretch windows and
allow them to cover the panel and taskbar. It looks like they made a
change to KDE so now the panel and task bar are always on top. This
makes it a pain if a window slips "underneath" the task bar as it's
title bar and window controls are not accessible. I have to use the
"unclutter windows" options available off of the desktop. Does anyone
know if this behavior can be changed? In looking at the KPanel
configuration panel I don't see any appropriate options to turn off this
"always-on-top" behavior. I see that auto hide is available but I don't
care for that behavior on my desktop.

It's been quite some time but I think that even Windows allows one to
configure whether the task bar is always on top or not.
