Hmmm. Have to take a look at that one. The perldap at Mozilla is
definitely a
WIP. Does Net::LDAP do all the certificate stuff one might want out of
such a
tool?
I really don't want to say anything that is going to push people away
from
Netscape's open source effort. My intention is to promote interest in
their
efforts. I have been working with Netscape for a long time, and I like
(most)
of the company's ethic. I figure if I can get some other people to take
a look
at what they are doing I'm paying my open source taxes.
Having said that I will take a look at Net::LDAP. In the real word we
need
candid and honest evaluation of competing solutions. As far as openLDAP
goes.
I glanced at it. It seemed to lack a lot of the features that
Netscape's LDAP
has. I will keep an eye on it, but since I get paid to make Netscape's
products
work, that is my main thrust.
