For 2. above, you may have to upgrade your ghostscript to version 5.10
like I did. It contains the filters for a lot of more recent printers
including my Epson Stylus 600. Go to the SuSE support database
http://www.suse.de/support/sdb_e, then do a keyword search on
"ghostscript". It will give you more information.
