Hi,
after some long months of work I finally
finished to setup a Linux cluster which consists
of one central server, ten number-crunchers and
one diskless x-terminal. All clients get their
operting system from the server at boot up time.
In case somebody plans something similar, he/she
might find under:
http://gen100.imb-jena.de
some interesting hints, what was changed w.r.t.
the standard SuSE 6.0 distribution in order to
bring the cluster into real production mode. Also
a lot of small and moderate problems, which I
did not manage to fix or where I found work arounds
can be found under that URL.
In the hope, that this information is useful for
others,
Ruben
