In general I would say no. I can only think of 3 or 4 good reasons to
upgrade your kernel.

1. New hardware not supported by your present kernel.
2. New software not supported by your present kernel.
3. A security flaw in your present kernel, fixed in a newer version.

So far all of my upgrades have been driven by #3.

If none of those apply and your present kernel does what you need/want to
do, then why upgrade? The only other reason I can think of is

4.  For the fun of it.  :}
