Looks like your logs contain the "smoking gun" proof that your ISP is
hanging up on you. I had one that did that to me also, and he used the
same excuses on me. I set my pinger to pinging every minute or so (ping
-i 1200 myisp.com) and that slowed him down a bit, but I later changed
to another ISP and have had NO "accidental" hangups.
