I don't know what this person's on, but it must be a really fast machine
and an ignorance of Freshmeat! There are about 6 or 7 different ICQ clones
available on Freshmeat. Almost all of them are better than the Java
version. Java is a neat language, but unfortunately, applets on the web
are mostly useless drivel that I'm not willing to wait for and
applications are far too slow, especially on Linux. The Java version is
also *far* from full-featured, especially compared to the other programs
available.
