What do you mean by command line ?
I assume(bear with me) that the sql database just sit there and waits for
commands/requaest and answers them. Am i right here ?? I thought you need
to use you app to pass the requast (vi driver) ect...
What kind of gui apps ?? Do they have a programing language ???

I assume you need to write the application /gui ?
