I am a recruiter and receive CVs by email. Almost always Word documents. I
want to be able to carry on receiving these CVs and thus need a Word
converter.
StarOffice is nice but not free, as in GPL. So if I am going to switch to
Linux, I will also switch to a free Word Processor.
Moreover, the ability to open Word documents is a major part of the M$
lock-in. The Open Source community needs a utility to break this lock-in.
