-static
On systems that support dynamic linking, this pre-
vents linking with the shared libraries. On other
systems, this option has no effect.
man ld
-Bstatic
Do not link against shared libraries. This is only
meaningful on platforms for which shared libraries are
supported.
(the info files give more detail) Basically depending on whether the
makefile uses gcc or ld to link, you need to add the above to the
options.
