Jim,

        You can go for the RPM or you can go get the the last 1.X.X version and
compile it then get the newest 2.X.X version and compile it for your
machine. This way if you are connecting to a machine that has the 2.X.X
version on it .. then it will work, and if you are going into a machine
that has the 1.X.X version it will drop back for compatibility. It works
much nicer then just rpm -i < blah, blah,blah> :)
