Hallo,
anbei ein Beispiel wie anderswo mit Humor und dummen Fragen
umgegangen wird. Ist zwar total OT aber vielleicht hebts die
Stimmung ? :-))

This smuggles eggs to another country. The kind of chicken is
"kornish" or just "ksh" for short.

>export PATH;

This is the trail the smugglers take.

>PATH=:/src/bin:/src/script:/src/trufax:/bin:/etc:/usr/bin:/tcb/b

This doesn't do anything. It's just to throw the border patrol off
guard.

>in

Determines the direction. In this case, eggs are smuggled "in".

>export USER; USER=`logname`:`tty | cut -c9-11`

The smugglers initials ("T.T.Y.") and codename (c9-11)

>export PS1; PS1=$USER:$HOME\>
>export PS2; PS2=$USER:$HOME\>\>

More gobbledegook.

>export ARCHIVE; ARCHIVE=/archive/southern
>export DATA; DATA=/data/southern

Direction from which the smuggling will occur. In this case, across
the southern border.

>export TZ; TZ=EST4EDT
>export HZ; HZ=50

Time zone and degrees from "Horizon" (HZ). This is technical
geophysical talk.

>umask 0000

The kind of mask the smugglers will be wearing. In this case, 4 zeros
refer to a standard ski mask with 4 holes (2 eyes, 1 nose, 1 mouth).

>stty intr \^C

More meaningless stuff to throw the border patrol off guard.

For some reason, they're bringing an editor. His initials are
"V.I."... most likely it's the famous Victor Irving.

>cwd() {

Indicates payment will be in cash. CWD="cash when delivered" and "CD
$*" means "currency demonination is in standard dollars".

> PS1=$USER:$PWD\>

More code words plus a reiteration that cash is due upon receipt.

This is their secret getaway plan.

Indicates eggs will be on the executive menu, so it's an important
delivery.

>
>logout

Similar to "bug out" or simply "leave when delivered". The
benefactors don't want the smugglers hanging around and acting like
tourists if you know what I mean.

Hope this helps!!!
