Hi, I followed your excellent s2ram page on the opensuse.org site and found that "s2ram -f -a 3" works on my Toshiba 2430 laptop with OpenSuse 10.1
The output of s2ram -i is: This machine can be identified by: sys_vendor = "TOSHIBA" sys_product = "*" sys_version = "*" bios_version = "V1.50" I'm not sure if that will actually help you, as the information appears a bit vague.
