I have a Compaq R3000z and I have found that it does suspend and resume properly when I use "./s2ram -f -s -p". Also I am using the most resent Ubuntu Edgy (development version) kernel  (linux-image-2.6.17-8-generic version 2.6.17-8.22). I think it has some IDE resume patches that prevent IDE from freezing after resume. I don't know exactly which patches did it.

All tests were done using "init=/bin/bash". Suspend does not work if the nvidia module is loaded,  even if X is fully initialized with NvAGP enabled (as per the wiki page).

So anyway,

This machine can be identified by:
    sys_vendor   = "Hewlett-Packard "
    sys_product  = "Presario R3200 (DP533AV)      "
    sys_version  = "F.33"
    bios_version = "F.33"

"s2ram -f -s -p" works.

Thanks for the work you do. Finally my laptop can get some sleep. ;-)
