Yes, suspend to disk in this manner works.

No luck with 2.6.18. I'm working on trying mm3 but haven't gotten there,
yet.

I did notice that while running through the different options to s2ram,
sometimes the computer will not immediately power down. Instead, it
powers up, but the monitor does not turn back on. Caps Lock/Num Lock
seem to work... I have to hold the power button down for 4 seconds to
get the machine to turn off and then turn it back on.
